Masterclass - The Joy of Sound and Mantra

2 November, 2022
(Registration open till November 2025)

Mantras are ancient words of power which remind us of our true essence. Sometimes when we are experiencing stress, overwhelm or confusion, it's easy to forget who we are. Our communication can become blocked, and we can lose sight of our natural, empowered and joyful state. Working with the power of sound, and freeing the voice is one of the easiest and most joyful ways to clear our minds so we can connect with our peaceful and joyful nature.  This process is really important at the end of autumn so we can keep joyful and full of light throughout the winter months.

In this 75 minute masterclass, Jane and Petra will help you to:

  1. Open the throat chakra, releasing blocks around communication and self-esteem
  2. Learn 3 powerful mantras that bring light into your heart and mind
  3. Enjoy the freedom of sacred sound and meditation to bring inner peace
  4. Discover how to chant a verse from the Bhagavad Gita to help your meditation practice

As a qualified Dru Yoga teacher, I thought I had a good understanding of asana and the koshas - which of course I did, but the APD course has taken that level of understanding and more importantly my personal experience of my yoga practice to a different level.

The course took me on a journey through the koshas in a way that not only increased my awareness of how I experience asana but also how to use asana to reshape my experience.  With the support and guidance of the tutors, I was able to revisit the asana I previously avoided which has contributed to my body being stronger and more flexible than at any time since my twenties - and I now love to practise those asanas.

Emotionally, it has helped me process difficult emotions such as grief and shown the way to change self-limiting beliefs.  For me, the real gift of the course was the tutorials which became the foundation for building a supportive sangha of wonderful yogis which continues to exist.  It was during these sessions of deep personal sharing that our fantastic tutors were able to share further their incredible wisdom and answer the many questions that inevitably spring forth in any process of swadhyaya - I highly recommend this course!

I enjoyed everything about this workshop. Nice to be on the receiving end. Padma's introduction to the koshas. The very interesting technique for the diaphragm and diaphragmatic breathing. The pear tree partner work and flowing individual sequence.

Keith was such an inspiration with his delicious dishes and I felt very nourished by our shared meal. I especially enjoyed the creamed carrots and will definitely be making it for my family. I was also reminded that it's not just about the cooking and that putting love and intent into it is what makes a real difference.
